Business analysts, data stewards and application users using the Semarchy Convergence for MDM-generated applications can collaborate to govern and access the master data as it is now or as it was at any point in time. This interface makes role-based master data access and manipulation simple for all users.

Generated Applications User Interface

The user interface for browsing, authoring, validating and managing master data is generated from the artifacts declared in the data model (entities, relations, business objects, views, workflows, etc) and adapts to the connected user’s privileges and language preferences.

Business Object Views

Through Business Objects defined in the model, business users, data stewards and data owners agree on a business structure for the hub’s entities. Using Views defined on top of these business objects, application users access a user interface perfectly suited for their needs.

Business-Friendly Forms, Tables and Hierarchies

The concept of view is used at every level of the applications to define the layout of the application screens. Application designers can define forms and tables as well as hierarchies specific to a certain usage or dedicated to certain user roles.

Intuitive Data Navigation

Business Objects, entities and relationships defined in the model are represented in the data access interface as Master-detail pages, hierarchies trees and links to the parent. With these various navigation methods, browsing the hierarchies, including self-references, is intuitive for all users.

Data Lineage, Trace-Back to Source

The lineage view, available in the data access interface allows the origin of the golden records to be tracked. The lineage allows data stewards to trace back to the source data from the golden data. Using the lineage, every step of the certification process is transparent to users.

Master Data Metrics

In an application, the Home Dashboard displays on a single screen the status of the entire MDM Hub for business users, including ongoing workflows and assigned activities. It also displays to data stewards the overview and detailed metrics of the hub as well as the status of the data certification jobs.

Rejects and Duplicates Access

Using the workbench, data stewards can analyze the records detected as duplicates and/or rejected by the certification framework. They can suggest adjustments to the certification process to improve data certification automation or act directly on the staged data within human workflows.

Golden Data History

Business analysts, data stewards and application users can access golden data and the lineage on current or past data versions. Thanks to the data version control, the entire history of the Convergence Hub™ data is preserved and is always accessible.

Customizable Views

The views on the golden data and lineage can be customized by the consumers through powerful, complex filters, sorting and column selection.

Microsoft Excel Integration

From the workbench, users can export entire or filtered golden and lineage data sets in Microsoft Excel format through just one click. Export capabilities can be restricted by user role for sensitive data.

Role-based security Enforcement

Security is enforced when accessing data for all users. The interface adapts dynamically to the privileges to display only the accesses and actions granted to the connected user.

Business terms are translated as part of the model design, and translate to a graphical interface displayed in the connected user’s locale. The native internationalization provides a single interface that adapts to international environments.
