What’s New in Semarchy 2023.3?
Recapping Semarchy xDM 2023.2:
- Expanded capabilities for Azure users and data-driven workflow administration. The Microsoft Azure Purview Connector seamlessly combines Semarchy xDM and Microsoft Purview in Azure, offering end-to-end master data management, data cataloging, and data governance. The Workflow Admin UI simplifies workflow management with an intuitive GUI, empowering both technical and non-technical users to collaborate effectively.
Recapping Semarchy xDI 2023.2:
- Continue enhancing integration design experience + official connector converters. Enhancements include new PostgreSQL and Greenplum to JSON deserializers for easy manipulation of semi-structured data, as well as official Docker images for faster and more reliable deployments of xDI production components. Additionally, a new Amazon S3 tool optimizes costs as a direct delivery repository and dedicated converters streamline migration from Oracle Data Integration (ODI), IBM DataStage, and Informatica PowerCenter to xDI.

- xDM: Multi-record workflows, email automation, and automatic refreshes
- Multi-Record, Data-Driven Workflows: Performs various actions on multiple records at once, improving efficiency and workflow management.
- Workflow Email Automation: Send fully customizable emails as part of the workflow with configurable notifications to any user’s inbox.
- Wait Dialog & Automatic Refresh: Configure a wait dialog for data actions, allowing users to choose between waiting or continuing activities.
- xDI: Continue enhancing integration deployments + more deserializers & connectors
- Azure Delivery Repository: Enable Azure Blob Storage as a direct Delivery Repository to optimize cloud costs
- More Deserializers: Dedicated templates to de-serialize JSON data in Google BigQuery and XML data in Snowflake or using a generic template
- Connector Updates: Support for Vertica (by opentext) analytics database, improvements to Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Actian Avalanche, Amazon Redshift, S3, Greenplum, MySQL, etc.

Semarchy xDM 2023.3 Updates:
- Multi-Record, Data-Driven Workflows
- Overview: Workflows can now start from either an empty list or a selection of records – enabling users to efficiently author, import, create, update, copy, export, and submit multiple records simultaneously.
- Benefits: Multi-record capabilities extend data-driven collaboration with xDM and boost the productivity and efficiency of teams in their business workflows.
- Workflow Email Automation
- Overview: This new step type in the workflow design offers more than simple task assignment notifications. Designers have maximum flexibility to create fully customized and data-driven emails as part of the workflow process. For example:
- Emails can be sent at any stage of a workflow (between two user tasks, after a router, or before the end of the workflow…)
- Using SemQL, every aspect of the email, from recipients to the body, is configurable using data (and metadata) from the workflow.
- Benefits: By incorporating the email automation feature, companies leveraging data-driven workflows can significantly boost efficiency and collaboration among individuals and teams involved in their data management activities.
- Overview: This new step type in the workflow design offers more than simple task assignment notifications. Designers have maximum flexibility to create fully customized and data-driven emails as part of the workflow process. For example:
- Wait Dialog & Automatic Refresh
- Overview: Application designers can configure a wait dialog for data authoring or duplicate management actions, allowing users to wait for the certification process to complete or continue with their activities while it runs in the background.
- Benefits: Provide end users of xDM’s data apps with a better experience that’s more conducive to their business process and workflows when managing data.
Semarchy xDI 2023.3 Updates:
- Azure Delivery Repository
- Overview: Earlier this year, we added Google Cloud Services and Amazon S3 as direct delivery repositories to optimize cloud resourcing. We’re now adding Azure Blob Storage to this mix to help those using Azure’s cloud capabilities.
- Benefits: Like the GCP/AWS clients who’ve seen cost savings from reduced data flows in/out of the cloud (consumption-based pricing) – Azure clients can now enjoy this benefit.
- Container Deployment Guides & Samples
- Overview: The updated Semarchy xDI documentation includes guides and sample scripts for deploying xDI production components in Google Cloud Platform using official Docker images, with upcoming guides for Amazon Web Service and Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Benefits: Similar to guides/scripts available for xDM, these will help administrators quickly get started with deploying xDI across multiple cloud platforms seamlessly.
- More Deserializers
- Overview: Dedicated templates are now available to efficiently de-serialize XML data stored in generic RDBMS String and Snowflake VARIANT columns, as well as JSON data stored in Snowflake, Google BigQuery, and MySQL.
- Benefits: These templates leverage the native capabilities of the respective engines, enhancing data processing performance and effectiveness.
- Connector Updates
- Overview: We’re updating two of our existing connectors (Vertica and Snowflake) with minor improvements to others.
- Vertica (by opentext): is a high-performance analytics database. xDI now supports integrating hierarchical data stored in ROW and ARRAY types in Vertica.
- Snowflake: is receiving a few big updates and improvements
- Support for Target Filters
- Improvement to the Replicator template to handle empty fields and null values
- MERGE incremental method for improved integration performances.
- New Load JSON to Snowflake template to load JSON files, stored locally or in the cloud, to Snowflake, with optimizations using VARIANT work columns.
- Benefits: xDI’s ever-growing library of Components and Connectors empower users with effortless access to the capabilities and complexities of diverse technologies, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Overview: We’re updating two of our existing connectors (Vertica and Snowflake) with minor improvements to others.
